Brick Plots
"Brick Plots" is a visualization method to simplify interpreting complex immunological data, particularly from high-parameter cytometry studies such as those generated by mass cytometry (CyTOF) and flow cytometry. As the parameter limit for immunological analysis has increased dramatically, the need for innovative approaches to analyze and visualize these complex datasets has become more pressing. Brick Plots addresses this need by offering a user-friendly, intuitive way to visualize cell population clusters based on protein expression similarity.
Key Features and Functionalities:
- Two-Dimensional Barcode Visualization: Brick Plots generate a two-dimensional barcode representation that displays the phenotype of each cell population cluster about the entire dataset. This innovative visualization simplifies the complex relationships between different cell populations.
- Simplified Interpretation of Complex Data: By transforming high-dimensional data into a visually intuitive format, Brick Plots facilitate interpreting and analyzing complex cytometry data. This approach allows researchers to grasp the sampled cells' phenotypic landscape quickly.
- Applicability to Various Cytometry Data: While particularly useful for mass cytometry data, the Brick Plot method applies to traditional flow cytometry data. This versatility makes it a valuable tool for various immunological analyses.
- Utility in Fundamental Research and Clinical Trials: The method effectively visualizes data from fundamental immunological research and clinical trials.
